Amca statement on covid-19 – 11/5/20

Steve Harvey AMCA

Following on from the Prime Ministers press release last night, all AMCA authorised events will be cancelled until 31st May.

The AMCA Board of Directors will be constantly reviewing all advice issued by the Government.

We are aware that clubs and riders will want the sport to resume as soon as possible, events will only resume when it is safe to do so and in line with the latest Government advice.

We have also decided that the best option in the interest of public safety is to postpone our awards dinner, we will try and find a suitable date as soon as it is safe to do so. we will honour all bookings already received, but if you would prefer a refund please contact

Hopefully we can all get out riding and enjoying the events we all love as soon as it is safe to do so!

Latest club news

Carole Towl

Sad news i’m afraid,

One of the co-founders of our club Carole Towl passed away on Tuesday 28th January 2020.

Her funeral will be Wednesday 4th March 11:30am at Glyn Valley crematorium, Bodmin and is open to all.

Donations are to the Dogs Trust and Cancer Research.

Following a consultation of AMCA Directors, all AMCA events are cancelled until the 14th April with immediate effect, this is in line with other sports bodies. This is as a result of the Covid-19 virus guidance update issued by the Government yesterday.

The AMCA has not taken this decision lightly but the overriding concern is the health and well being of officials and riders as well as the desire to not increase the burden on the emergency services at this difficult time.

As the situation evolves, we will of course seek to issue further statements.
